In 2021, there were three fatal car accidents in Olympia out of total of 890 crashes. There were five total vehicles involved in the fatal wrecks, with 4 alcohol or drug impaired persons. Two involved pedestrians and one involved a bicyclist.
How Safe are the Roads and Bridges in Olympia?
Olympia’s Public Works program improves the city’s roads and infrastructure around the clock. These include 200+ miles of sewer pipes, 218 miles of streets, and 346 miles of drinking water pipes. It also outlined all projects under its Transportation Master Plan (TMP), which seeks to improve walking, biking, and transit routes with a 20-year project window.
