Meet Daniel Suárez
Daniel Suárez is a NASCAR Cup Series racing driver and the first Mexican-born driver to win a NASCAR national series race. Before finding success in stock car racing, Daniel’s career began in his native Monterrey, Mexico, in 2003. He caught the racing bug with karting, dedicating himself to the sport and becoming a two-time Mexican national karting champion in 2004 and 2008. He made his NASCAR debut in Mexico in 2009.
From 2010-2014, Daniel raced in the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series and the K&N Pro Series East. He won 10 races in the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series, including a run of five victories in 15 starts during his final season. From there in 2014, his career really took off. Already running a full slate of NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series races, he commuted to the states, competed in 13 Pro Series East races, and made his NASCAR Truck Series debut.
The achievements led to a full-season Xfinity Series drive with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2015. He earned the series’ Rookie of the Year title and his first career win for Xfinity Series race on June 11, 2016. In 2016, he took home the Xfinity Series Championship after a thrilling season-ending race at Homestead, and became the first internationally-born driver to win a NASCAR national series championship. He was promoted to the NASCAR Cup Series, and has been a fierce contender on NASCAR’s Cup and Truck Series since. In 2021, he joined the Trackhouse Team co-owned by Justin Marks and Pitbull. He led 58 laps and finished fourth at Bristol Motor Speedway, among other early highlights with his first-year team. In 2024, Daniel won the NASCAR Mexico Series race in Los Angeles and took first in the Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
A New Chapter for Daniel and Freeway
