"How does SIP Trunking work at Freeway?"

SIP Trunking consists of three primary components:
  1. SIP PBX:
An IP-based PBX communications with all endpoints over an IP network. It also switches calls between VoIP users on local lines while allowing each other to share multiple external phone lines. The typical SIP PBX can additionally switch calls between a VoIP user and a traditional telephone user, or between two traditional telephone users in the same way that a conventional SIP PBX does. In short, your telephone will operate through VoIP technology, but this will not prevent you from exchanging calls with POTs.
  2. The IAD:
This device facilitates connectivity between an enterprise IP network, the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) and Freeway’s network.
  3. The Freeway Network:
Freeway ensures connectivity to the PSTN from an IP Network for mobile and fixed communication devices. It also transports IP communications across a private IP network or the public internet.

"Bottom Line Benefits:"

  • Reducing the recurring costs of separate voice and data circuits
  • Boosting network capacity without the expense of additional T1 circuits
  • Eliminating the cost of purchasing , supporting and maintaining media gateways
  • Increasing available bandwidth because SIP eliminates the protocol conversions that consume bandwidth and hamper end-user productivity.

Freeway’s SIP service offers unlimited local calling and unlimited site-to-site calling to your business locations with Freeway’s SIP service . It’s completely scalable with access options ranging from 1.5 to 100 Mbps. Compatible with leading IP-PBX systems, SIP packages contain standard and optional a la carte services and applications, including dynamic bandwidth allocation, voice compression, virtual Direct Inward Dialing, and Automatic Call Forwarding (pdf) for business continuity.

"Do more with less:"

Take advantage of powerful VoIP features like dynamically allocated bandwidth, voice compression, Virtual Direct Inward Dialing, and Automatic Call Forwarding (pdf). Freeway’s SIP maximizes network efficiency by utilizing a single circuit for voice and data traffic. With dynamic allocations, Freeway’s SIP service permits the full use of your IP circuit to support data traffic when voice lines are idle. However, voice traffic always takes priority. Available voice compression means more simultaneous voice calls on the same bandwidth, which eliminates the need for additional T-1s.
